MondayPresentation of the Seminars Höhere Mathematik
In a typical summer semester, two to three seminars 'Höhere Mathematik' (MB04) are offered. The lecturers present their seminars in an information event. This usually takes place in the second half of January. All interested students can then register for the seminars using an online form. Once the entries have been evaluated, the allocation list will be published in the calendar so that you can see which seminar you are in. In the summer semester 2025 three seminars MB04 will be offered: 1) Dr. Hannes Junker - Geschichte mathematischer Instrumente 2) Dr. Antje Kiesel - Mathematik und Zaubern 3) Prof. Lisa Sauermann - Buch der Beweise .

Thursday'Ringvorlesung' - Presentation of the Introductory (V2) Lectures
The lecture series is intended as a guide for the 3rd/4th Bachelor semester and for the 'Mathematische Vertiefungen' in the Teacher Education program. In this event, the introductory lectures of the second year of the Bachelor's program Mathematik will be presented. The teachers who will conduct these lectures in the upcoming semester will provide information on the essential content and the required prerequisites. Furthermore, the practical training courses of the Bachelor's program will be introduced and in the summer semester, the Bachelor-Master Office Mathematics offers study advice before the 3rd semester. The lecture series usually takes place on two afternoons, in the 2nd half of January and in late June/early July. You will find the program for January 2025 linked below. Take advantage of the opportunity to inform yourself about to find out about the further course of your studies and to tailor your study program for the next semester!

During the Christmas break, the Bachelor-Master Office Mathematics is closed from December 24th, 2024, until January 3rd, 2025. The office hours on Monday December 23rd, 2024, and on Monday January 6th, 2025, will be offered at the usual times.

SaturdayTutors' Training
An all-day tutors' training course takes place on a Saturday at the beginning of each winter semester as preparation for the tutorials, particularly with regard to a Practical Teaching Course. All students who wish to work as tutors in the next two semesters are strongly recommended to attend this event. The training will cover the following topics, among others: - expectations of tutors - uncertainties - diversity - correcting homework - presentation of solutions - appearance as a leader - collegial case consultation - portfolio for the Practical Teaching Course. If you are interested, please register via the course set up for the training in eCampus (see below). All further information will be provided there.

TuesdayIntroductory Talk for New Bachelor's Students
We invite all first-year students to an orientation event in the week before the start of lectures to introduce them to the course. You will receive an overview of the course of study and important information from the Bachelor's/Master's Office on the procedures involved in studying mathematics. The mathematics student council also offers valuable tips and information. We look forward to seeing you there!
