Universität Bonn

Hausdorff School for Mathematics

The Hausdorff School for Mathematics (HSM) is the central institution serving all early-career researchers in mathematics at Bonn: from doctoral students to advanced postdocs. HSM provides an excellent learning and working environment for early-career mathematicians and supports them in pursuing their individual research projects and advancing on their individual career paths. To achieve this we create a vibrant community of early-career researchers that thrives through vigorous exchange of ideas and a deeply collaborative culture. HSM connects a critical mass of talent and establishes an intellectual cooperative space that allows our early-career researchers to actively contribute to the mathematical research at HCM and to profit from the HCM structures such as (Junior) Trimester Programs at the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics (HIM) and numerous activities within the RAs and IRUs.

Postdoc Day 2025: The Broad Spectrum of Bonn’s Science Landscape – April 3, 2025
PhD – and then what? Germany’s research landscape includes a wide variety of institutions, ranging from universities and universities of applied sciences to world-renowned research centers. The Postdoc Day 2025 on Thursday, April 3, 2025, 12:30 p.m. - 18.00 p.m. offers postdocs and PhD candidates in the final phase of their doctoral studies a unique opportunity: you can explore the work of numerous non-university research institutions that are members of the Bonn Research Alliance (BORA). These institutions will introduce themselves at a “market of opportunities” and through short presentations. Additionally, many service units of the University of Bonn will showcase their support services for early-career researchers.
