Venue: Neues Hörsaalzentrum, Endenicher Allee 19c, 53115 Bonn
If you were unable to attend the panel discussion, you can have a look at it here. The first part is in English, the second part in German.
Universities become more and more international. We discuss chances and difficulties of this development. How do universities balance internationalization and regional ties? Is Germany attractive enough for students from abroad? Which students do we want to recruit - only the best? What can Germany do to keep up with top universities, for example in the USA? What obstacles have to be overcome? These and more questions will be discussed by the panel.
The panel discussion will be moderated by the science journalist Jan Wiarda.
At the beginning, leading representatives of three of the universities forming the GlobalMathNetwork present their internationalization strategies:
- Prof. Gérard Ben Arous (New York University)
- Prof. Gang Tian (Beijing University)
- Prof. Michael Hoch (University of Bonn)
The participants of the subsequent panel discussion (in German) are:
- Prof. Dorothee Dzwonnek (Secretary General of the DFG)
- Dr. Claudia Lücking-Michel (CDU Bonn)
- Ministerialdirigent Dr. Dietmar Möhler (MKW NRW)
- Ministerialdirektor Volker Rieke (BMBF)
- Prof. Catharina Stroppel (University of Bonn)
- Prof. Karl-Theodor Sturm (University of Bonn)
