The department of mathematics mourns the death of Tim Lichtnau. Tim Lichtnau was an enthusiastic and talented student of mathematics. He was about to complete his master's thesis, which was supervised by Prof. Dr. Floris van Doorn and Dr. Hugo Moeneclaey in Gothenburg (Sweden).

He died on December 26, 2024 in Gothenburg while on a bicycle ride. The news of his unexpected death leaves us deeply saddened.
